迈克尔·约瑟夫·瑞安 [1]（英語：Michael J. Ryan，1965年—）是爱尔兰前创伤外科医师和現流行病学家，長期在世界衛生組織任職[2][3]。
早年生活和教育
瑞安在爱尔兰国立大学戈尔韦分校接受医学训练，[1]在苏格兰接受骨科培训，並在都柏林大学学院獲得硕士学位。[2][5]
1990年7月，瑞安与女友移居伊拉克，为當地医生提供培训。不久伊拉克入侵科威特，在此期間瑞安因車禍導致椎骨骨折。[1][6]最终瑞恩和他的妻子离开伊拉克。瑞安的背部傷勢使他无法擔任外科医生，於是他转向關注公共卫生和传染病领域。[3][7]
1996年，瑞安加入世界卫生组织，從事應對流行病和傳染病工作。[1][2]2001年，瑞安來到乌干达，负责應對當地埃博拉疫情。[8]2005年至2011年，瑞安担任世卫组织全球警报和响应行动主任。[2]
2011年，瑞安离开世卫组织，返回爱尔兰戈尔韦，参与全球消灭脊灰行动（英语：Global Polio Eradication Initiative）（GPEI）的工作，直到2017年他再度返回世卫组织。[1][3]
2019年，瑞安擔任世界卫生组织紧急医疗计划的执行主任。[2][9]瑞安在2019冠状病毒病疫情期間领导团队應對疫情。[2][3]
除了在世卫组织的工作外，瑞安还曾在都柏林大学学院担任国际卫生教授。[5]
个人生活
1988年，瑞安結識了玛丽·康诺利（Máire Connolly）。他们于1997年结婚。[10] 康诺利是爱尔兰国立戈尔韦大学的健康安全和传染病教授，[11]还曾在世界卫生组织工作過。[1][8][12]他们共有三个孩子。
