Christopher Amott

Christopher Amott (s. 23. marraskuuta 1977 Halmstadissa, Ruotsissa) on ruotsalainen metallikitaristi, lauluntekijä ja laulaja. Parhaiten hän on tunnettu death metal -yhtye Arch Enemyn kitaristina, jossa hän soitti isoveljensä kitaristi Michael Amottin kanssa. Christopher Amott soittaa sekä laulaa perustamassaan ja johtamassaan metalliyhtye Armageddonissa.

Amott jätti Arch Enemyn ensimmäisen kerran vuonna 2005 pian sen samanvuotisen julkaisun, Doomsday Machine -albumin jälkeen vedoten haluamiseensa keskittyä soittamiseensa ilman yhtyettä. Hänet korvasi yhtyeessä nykyään Opethissa soittava Fredrik Åkesson, joka kuitenkin joutui jättämään yhtyeen jo vuonna 2007 Amottin tullessa takaisin, juuri ennen sen uusimman samanvuotisen albumin julkaisua.

5 Maaliskuuta 2012 Christopher lopetti jälleen Arch Enemyssä syynä soolouralle siirtyminen. Hänet korvasi tällöin Arsis kitaristi Nick Cordle.

Toukokuussa 2012, Amott muutti New York Cityyn jossa hankki työluvat 2013 vuoden alussa. Vuonna 2014, Amott aloitti bändinsä Armageddon levytykset. Vokalistina toimi Matt Hallquist, kitaristina Joey Concepcion, basistina Sara Claudius ja rumpalina Márton Veress. Albumi "Captivity & Devourment" julkaistiin vuonna 2015. Sittemmin Dawn/ex-Nightrage vokalisti Antony Hämäläinen on korvannut Matt Hallquistin yhtyeen vokalistina.

Christopher Amott soitti Arch Enemyssä jälleen kerran pohjois-Amerikan kiertueella kun Nick Cordle päätti jättää bändin kesken kiertueen. Jeff Loomis (Ex-Nevermore) kitaristi korvasi Cordlen.

Vuonna 2017 Christopher Amott auttoi Dark Tranquillityn Euroopan kiertueella. Vuonna 2020 Amott liittyi yhtyeeseen.
