Silame is a Local Government Area in Sokoto State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is in the town of Silame, on the Sokoto River.
It has an area of 790 km2 and a population of 104,378 at the 2006 census.[1]
The postal code of the area is 853.[2]
Climate
There is a wet season that is hot and oppressive and a dry season that is hot and partly cloudy throughout the year.[3]
Silame's climate is changing dramatically as a result of climate change, with the region experiencing a shift toward warmer, more consistent temperatures.[4]
